NH Collection Helsinki opens as the group's first hotel in Finland

Contemporary Spanish hotel brand NH Collection^* has opened the doors on its first property in Finland^*, the NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa^*, and its second in the Nordic countries after NH Collection Copenhagen^* opened in Denmark^* in 2021.

The hotel, which opened on 16 May 2024, is spread across two centrally-located heritage buildings in the Finnish capital, the New Student House and Hotel Seurahuone.

The hotel comprises 224 guest rooms and suites, including an opulent 160-square-metre presidential suite. There's the Hansa Café Bar & Brasserie for French and Finnish cuisine, the Kupoli rooftop cocktail bar with splendid city views, a fully-equipped gym and spa as well as a traditional Finnish sauna.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city close to the main shopping street and within a three-minute walk from the Central Railway Station with trains to and from Helsinki Airport.

NH Collection opens its first hotel in the Middle East

NH Collection has opened its first property in the Middle East with the NH Collection Dubai The Palm^* on the world-famous Palm Jumeriah.

The hotel, which is located on the 'trunk' of the Palm Jumeriah with direct access to West Palm Beach, has 532 guestrooms, suites and apartments across 11 different room categories.

As well as Premium Lounge access for those in most luxurious rooms and the NH Kids' Club, there are five restaurants, a rooftop bar and an infinity pool with views across the Dubai skyline.

The hotel is also aiming to be as sustainable as possible with its own water plant, where solar panels are used to generate hot water and condensed water from the air conditioning system, which is then used for irrigation.

There's also a plan to launch a hydroponic farm within the hotel along with a community market later in the year.

NH Collection is part of NH Hotel Group^* and the wider Minor Hotels, the umbrella company for familiar brands such as Anantara and NH Hotels, among others. NH Collection Dubai The Palm is the brand's first of three to open in the region this year.

NH Hotel Group recognised as the world's third most sustainable

Spanish hotel giant NH Hotel Group which, among others, operates NH Hotels, has been credited as one of the world's most sustainable hotel companies by SAM, the sustainable investment agency that annually evaluates businesses that make up the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

The group moved up two places to take third position in its latest rankings, cementing its place as a leader when it comes to sustainability within the hotel sector.

In addition, NH Hotel Group has also been awarded a 'B' rating by Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)'s Climate Change Index, an international non-profit organisation that promotes sustainable economies.
