ABTA reveals Destinations to Watch 2024 report for travellers
ABTA, the UK's leasing association for travel agents and tour operators, has released its annual Destinations to Watch report for 2024.
The report highlights 10 destinations it believes, through customer research, are set to grow in popularity with UK travellers over the following 12 months. These include:
- Albania
- Aruba
- Crete, Greece
- Extremadura, Spain
- Mauritius
- Saxony, Germany
- Shropshire, UK
- Tyrol, Austria
- Vietnam
- Zambia

The report also features travellers' habits with 64% of people surveyed saying they plan to travel outside the UK in 2024. Nearly half of the people (47%) said they were likely to take a city break, while 41% plan to visit a country they have not visited before.
Interestingly, 58% said they planned to holiday in the UK, which is why the report includes, for the very first time, a UK destination to watch too.
