Gillian Thornton
Gillian gained a clutch of secretarial and language diplomas at the Institut Français in London, so it is no surprise that as a travel writer, she specialises in France, writing regularly for France Today, The Good Life France and Condor Ferries' on-board magazine, Good Times.
But she also writes about UK and European destinations for travel and women's magazines including My Weekly, People's Friend, Saga and This England, covering anything from river and ocean cruising to walking holidays and city breaks.
A member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, Gillian has travelled to Cape Town and Canada, Corsica and Cambodia in search of a story. Favourite place? "Usually where I have just been!
